TMS Support Services

Welcome to TMS, a family run partnership led by Tom Sweeney. We aim to provide reliable and user-friendly support to individuals and organisations involved with work based learning and assessment.

TMS was set up by Tom and Corinne Sweeney in 2000 to provide a source of independent, specialist support for individuals and organisations working with NVQs in Health and Social Care.

A supportive NVQ practitioner with a high level of expertise; Tom has extensive experience working as an centre manager, assessor, internal and external verifier. Particular strengths include making NVQs straightforward and less bureaucratic. Recently Tom gained a first class honours degree in education that focused on competency based assessment and the skills agenda.

Tom has a proven record of achievement working within workbased training and education. This experience has been used with much success to support a wide range of training organisations and NVQ assessment centres including; The Salvation Army, St John Ambulance, National Extension College, Worldwide NVQ, Nottingham Shared Primary Care Trust, Learn Direct, StepForward, Nursing and Residential Care magazine, Barnet College, Network Publishing, Sunrise Assisted Living and many others.

Whilst TMS is run as a business, its values reflect a philosophy of sharing and helping others.
